Cultivating Learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Math (STEAM)
The Think Big Space at the SAGE Center cultivates curiosity and innovation through hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, and Math (STEAM). Established in 2021, this innovative classroom serves as an educational incubator—empowering students and teachers to “Think Big” as they explore cloud computing, AWS technology, and Amazon Leadership Principles to solve real-world challenges with creativity and imagination.
The classroom encourages personalized learning for students of all ages, interests, and abilities—fostering teamwork, critical thinking, and innovation.
Daily operations are led by STEAM Education Instructor, José Romero Guillen, who develops and delivers engaging STEAM curriculum and activities throughout the school year. The program operates through a partnership between the Morrow County School District and the Port of Morrow, with generous contributions from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the creation of the space and its learning materials.
During the school year, the classroom is typically utilized Monday through Thursday by local Morrow County students. On select Fridays and weekends, the space opens to the public through programs such as Science Fridays in the spring and SAGE Saturdays in the fall and winter—offering families and visitors a chance to experience STEAM learning firsthand.
